What do you like about writing – or why do you yourself like to write?

I have always known that writing is what I was born to do. I have struggled over the years, however, to make the time to write. As I get older, and now that I have more free time, I find that writing is highly satisfying and enjoyable for me.

What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most and why? And/or what part of the process do you find the most challenging and why?

I enjoy revising my work. I like to have material already on the page with which I can work. I enjoy re-seeing, diving deeper, and adding substance to my initial drafts. I struggle most with the blank page. Getting from nothing to something is always a challenge. Once I have a start–something there on the page–then I can soar.
